Ambulance Service First Responders: Community Responder
Qualification Overview
The purpose of the Level 3 Certificate for Ambulance Service First Responders is to provide both Community Responders and Co-Responders with the skills, knowledge and understanding to provide the appropriate care prior to the arrival of an ambulance.
This qualification contains two pathways:
- Level 3 Certificate for Ambulance Service First Responders: Community Responder
- Level 3 Certificate for Ambulance Service First Responders: Co-Responder
Qualification Structure
To achieve the Level 3 Certificate for Ambulance Service First Responders: Community Responder learners must achieve a minimum of 20 credits. They must gain 19 credits from Mandatory Group M and 1 credit maximum from Optional Group O1.
To achieve the Level 3 Certificate for Ambulance Service First Responders: Co-Responder learners must achieve a minimum of 22 credits. They must gain 21 credits from Mandatory Group M and 1 credit maximum from Optional Group O1.

The Level 3 Certificate for Ambulance Service First Responders has been specifically designed to support progression onto a range of health-related qualifications, including the Level 3 Diploma in Clinical Healthcare Support – Emergency Care Assistant and the Level 4 Diploma for Associate Ambulance Practitioners
This course costs £600 + vat per person.
